Job summary

Bladen County is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to operate a mobile medical unit, respond to calls, and administer emergency care enroute to a hospital. Responsibilities include CPR, IV therapy, oxygen, airway management, and documentation of patient care.

The role requires NC Paramedic credentialing, high school diploma or GED, and current CPR certification. A valid NC driver’s license and ITLS/PHTLS within 12 months are required. Bladen County is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED; completion of a prescribed course of education to meet the requirements for credentialing as a Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls for service and administers emergency medical care using BLS, first aid, airway management, IV and medications.
• Communicates with hospital staff to relay patient status en route to hospital and coordinates with police or other responders as needed.
• Provides CPR, suctioning, bleeding control, immobilization, oxygen therapy and other life-saving measures.
• Completes ambulance call reports documenting patient condition and treatment for billing and medical records.
