Job summary

Pueblo of Zuni seeks an EMT-Basic/Firefighter for the Zuni Fire/EMS Program. The role provides basic emergency medical care and transportation in both fire and medical emergencies, under supervision of shift leadership.

Requirements include EMT-Basic certification, NM driver’s license, and hazardous materials awareness. Position involves on-call shifts and fire ground duties in a tribal community setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with at least 1 year of EMS experience.
• Valid NM Driver’s License with no DWI/DUI in past 3 years.
• NM Class E Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• National Registry EMT Basic licensure (NREMT Basic) required.
• AHA BLS & CPR/First Aid.
• ICS-100 or higher.
• NIMS IS-700 or equivalent.
• Hazardous Materials: Awareness/Operations (within 1 year).
• Firefighter I & II certifications (within 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Administer first aid and basic life support.
• Respond to fire & EMS calls and vehicle transports.
• Drive and operate emergency vehicles safely.
• Extricate patients and perform scene assessments.
• Maintain patient reports and department records.
• Complete vehicle maintenance and cleanliness duties.
• Participate in in-service training and community education.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
