Job summary

Loyola Medicine Transport is based at Loyola University Medical Center and is part of a three-hospital system in the Chicago area. The EMT role contributes to a regional leader in healthcare by delivering compassionate care and ensuring timely patient transport between facilities and residences.

You will work rotating shifts as part of Loyola Medicine Transport, with opportunities for tuition reimbursement, shift differentials, and career growth within a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• Valid EMT Basic license issued by IDPH.
• High School Diploma or GED requirement.
• Current Illinois Driver's License is required.
• CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Transport sick and/or injured patients to or between facilities or residences.
• Maintain a safe environment and actively participate in patient care delivery.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks and cleaning.
• Replenish medical equipment and supplies as needed.
• Monitor communications equipment and respond to dispatcher requests promptly.

What You'll Do

• Transport sick and/or injured patients to or between appropriate medical facilities and/or residence.
• Actively participate in the safe delivery of patient care and maintain a safe environment for all patients.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance check and cleaning.
• Replenish medical equipment and supplies.
• Monitor and properly operate all communications equipment to ensure efficient, constant, and appropriate contact with the communications department.
• Respond to all requests for service in an optimal manner and the priority of response as directed by the dispatcher.

What You'll Need For This Job

• Valid IDPH EMT Basic License
• High School Diploma or GED

Pay Range: $16.49 - $24.44 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
