Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Certification by the Kentucky Board of EMS for EMT.
• Kentucky EMT-Advanced Certification for AEMT.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify injuries, illnesses, or medical emergencies.
• Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients and families during transport.
• Monitor vital signs and adjust treatment interventions as necessary to ensure stability.
• Assist with lifting/moving of patients and safe transport to facilities.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and transportation details (PCRs).
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for continuity of care.
• Ensure EMS equipment and supplies are stocked, maintained, and functional.
• Perform routine checks on EMS vehicles for readiness and safety.
