Job summary

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking an EMT to join the medical care team. You will render supportive care at the scene, determine injuries, and transport patients to the hospital as directed under State Protocol or Medical Command.

Must have a valid driver’s license, BLS and CPR certification within 30 days, and current licensure as required by the state. National Registry EMT or state license alignment is required, with EVOC training completed as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• BLS and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess current licensure as required by state where services are provided.
• State EMT licensure (OH/WV) and NR EMT/State license alignment as applicable.
• Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and efficiently to calls.
• Determine extent and nature of injuries and provide initial care prior to transfer.
• Assist in removal of victims from scene.
• Ensure safe patient transport with continued in-transit care.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance, ambulance equipment, and replenishing supplies.

The EMT is a member of the medical care team trained and certified to render supportive care to the patient at the scene of accidental injury or sudden illness. Transporting patients to the hospital when appropriate and begin corrective treatment as directed under State Protocol or instructed by Medical Command.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess current Licensure as required by state where services are being provided:

OH: Emergency Medical Technician through OH Emergency Medical Services

WV: Emergency Medical Technician through WV Office of Emergency Medical Services

• Nationally registered as Emergency Medical Technician as required by state board:

WV: Emergency Medical Technician through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Unless state license is State License Only (SLO)

To be completed as established by department: (Administered at Department level)

• Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.
