Job summary

City of Freeport, Texas is seeking an EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, or Paramedic for part-time duty within the Fire/EMS Department. The role supports medical response, EMS prevention, and emergency management under supervision, with flexible hours and essential personnel status.

The ideal candidate will hold a Texas EMT certification (or higher), a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Texas driver license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Hold a High School diploma or GED and Texas EMT certification (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-P).
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver License or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of EMS prevention, emergency medical services, and emergency management principles.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide EMS care under supervision.
• Direct and indirect supervision of EMTs; may assume Incident Commander duties during emergencies.
• Ensure safety of crew and patients; prepare reports and attend trainings as assigned.
• Support emergency management operations and EMS program implementation for the city.
