Job summary

Freeport Fire & EMS Department in Texas is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B, EMT-A, or Paramedic) for part-time shifts. Under supervision of the Command or Company Officer, you will perform duties for the Fire & EMS Department, operate apparatus, and may serve as Incident Commander during major incidents.

Qualifications

• EMT-B, EMT-A or EMT-P certification required.
• High physical condition and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Knowledge of EMS principles, laws, and department procedures.
• Must communicate effectively and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Indirectly supervise EMTs and staff.
• May serve as Incident Commander during emergencies.
• Ensure safe actions of employees and volunteers.
• Respond to alarms and operate department vehicles and equipment.
• Prepare reports and participate in training and program development.
