Job summary

LifeStar Response is seeking a motivated and experienced Training Instructor to join our team and help shape the next generation of EMS professionals. The Training Instructor provides leadership and administration of the company’s internal BLS training and new employee orientation programs.

Qualifications

  • EMT certification or higher is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of EMS experience.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the company’s new employee orientation program.
  • Identify training needs and develop, coordinate, and conduct educational sessions.
  • Provide clinical guidance, re-education, and counseling on patient care and protocols.
  • Monitor BLS-level clinical performance and participate in QA/PI initiatives.
  • Assist as Assistant Software Administrator for the company’s ePCR system.
  • Provide oversight for ALS/BLS Field Training Officers and the field training program.
  • Participate in the annual employee performance review process.
  • Assist with EMS licensure and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Promote open communication, professional development, accountability, and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with operations and clinical leadership to implement training solutions.

EMS Orientation & Training Instructor

LifeStar Response is seeking a motivated and experienced Training Instructor to join our team and help shape the next generation of EMS professionals.

The Training Instructor provides leadership and administration of the company’s internal BLS training and new employee orientation programs. This position plays an important role in ensuring our field providers receive the education, support, and feedback needed to deliver safe, compassionate, and clinically excellent patient care.

In addition to training responsibilities, the Training Instructor supports clinical performance improvement at the BLS level, works closely with Field Training Officers, and helps foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and quality improvement throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the company’s new employee orientation program, ensuring new employees receive a consistent and engaging introduction to KQT Health.
  • Identify training needs and develop, coordinate, and conduct educational and re-education sessions.
  • Provide clinical guidance, re-education, and counseling to EMS providers regarding patient care, documentation, protocols, and clinical performance.
  • Monitor BLS-level clinical performance and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as an Assistant Software Administrator for the company’s electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) system.
  • Provide oversight and support for ALS/BLS Field Training Officers (FTOs) and the company’s field training program.
  • Participate in the company’s annual employee performance review process.
  • Assist with EMS licensure and regulatory compliance activities, including ambulance equipment and supply compliance.
  • Promote an environment that encourages open communication, professional development, accountability, and excellent clinical care.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, clinical leadership, and management to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective training solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification or higher.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to objectively, accurately, and consistently evaluate employee performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clinical excellence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage email and other electronic communications across multiple devices.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of EMS Charts and its quality assurance/review capabilities.
  • BLS/CPR Instructor certification.
  • EVOC Instructor certification.
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement (QI) methodologies.
  • Experience with clinical data analysis, reporting, and technical writing.
  • Previous experience as an EMS educator, Field Training Officer, QA/QI coordinator, or clinical supervisor.
