Brightpoint Community College invites applications to apply for a part-time Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor Assistant. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor Assistant will be responsible for assisting EMS Faculty during Practical Skills Sessions. This may include the delivery & evaluation of essential skills in the laboratory setting; assisting with set-up & breakdown of practical skills stations, as well as monitoring & documenting student performance of various skill sets. May include the following courses: AHA/BLS, EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, and RN to Paramedic. May work at either campus (Chester or Midlothian) or other off-site locations. Weekend availability strongly preferred.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Demonstrate a high degree of competency in EMS skills performance. Several years of recent EMS-related work and teaching experience. Background check will be required before employment.
- Minimum time commitment of 16 hours per semester required. Additional Considerations State EMS Education Coordinator, AHA/BLS, AHA/ACLS, AHA/PALS, PHTLS, EPC and AMLS instructor certifications. VA OEMS certified EMT, AEMT, Intermediate, and Paramedic. Virginia State and Nationally Certified Paramedic. Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel Travel may be required between campuses and potential offsite locations.
