Overview
Under the direct supervision of the EMS Unit Supervisor/EMS Coordinator provides education and training to all disciplines of emergency care providers. Takes a leadership role in course development through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of classroom, laboratory, clinical and on-line instruction.

Education and Experience
Graduation from a University or Community College with a degree or certificate in an Emergency Care discipline (i.e.: EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO, MD, Law Enforcement).
If RN, BSN preferred or enrolled in BSN program.
Two years of experience providing Emergency Care in ones State of Wisconsin Licensed level.
Certification and Licensure
Required certification applicable to training assigned (i.e. State of Wisconsin Licensed Emergency Care Provider, or other applicable certification, such as EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, DO or MD)
State of Wisconsin Certified EMS Instructor II or working toward completion preferred
CPR within 90 days
Certified American Heart Association Instructor in at least one level (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within 1 year

Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
For those driving their personal vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
Skills and Abilities
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, including development of Power Points for the classroom
Other Qualifications
Must be willing to travel off site for educational presentations 20%of the time.
