Job summary

Air Methods seeks experienced helicopter pilots to join the Danville, VA team. Candidates must maintain airworthiness, comply with FAR/AIM/GOM, and support patient transport operations in a demanding EMS environment.

Your role includes rigorous pre-flight discipline, coordination with medical crews, and adherence to safety protocols while serving communities 24/7. Strong flight time in category and leadership in critical missions are essential.

Qualifications

• 2,000 total flight hours with 1,500 hours in category.
• 1,000 PIC hours in category.
• 500 rotor wing turbine hours.
• 200 cross-country hours, at least 50 at night.
• 100 hours unaided night time; NVG may substitute for some hours.
• Commercial and Instrument ratings; ATP rating in category required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally.
• Complete pre-flight checks and sign Daily Flight Log.
• Retain final authority for flight operations and safety.
• Familiarize crew with aircraft and medical interior.
• Complete required documentation accurately.
• Perform detailed flight planning with short notice.
