Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Fleet Mechanic for the RWJBH Mobile Health (EMS) unit in Jersey City, NJ. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs and outfitting of ambulances and fleet vehicles, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have ASE certification (A-4/A-5) and 3–5 years of experience, performing diagnostics with OEM software and maintaining Fleetio records. A strong professional demeanor and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
ASE certification required; A-4 and A-5 at time of hire.
3–5 years of verifiable experience as a mechanic preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled preventative maintenance, repair and servicing of ambulances and vehicles.
Assist Fleet Manager with maintenance and outfitting of trucks and equipment.
Utilize OEM diagnostic software to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
Maintain accurate repair documentation and compliance with policies and regulations.
Ensure safety and quality inspections and timely completion of work orders.
Operate vehicles in accordance with EMS standards and company SOPs.
