Job summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine at VCU Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, seeks an enthusiastic EMS Fellow to join our academic team. This PRN Attending Physician role supports clinical care, teaching and research within our residency/fellowship programs.

Responsibilities include direct ED patient care, supervision of trainees, core curriculum lectures, ACLS/PALS/ATLS participation, and ongoing departmental research.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Active Virginia Medical license or ability to obtain
• Completion of EM Residency within 3 years (or 1500 hours if beyond 3 years)
• Commitment to professionalism and civility in a diverse academic environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ED and supervise trainees
• Deliver core curriculum lectures to medical students and residents
• Participate in ACLS, PALS and ATLS courses and clinical teaching
• Engage in departmental research and quality improvement activities
