Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university at the time of hire.
• Teaching experience.
• Current Michigan Licensed Paramedic.
• Current Michigan Licensed EMS Instructor-Coordinator (Paramedic level).
• American Heart Association Instructor (any level).
• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in Emergency Medical Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in accordance with Kellogg Community College policies and the Allied Health Department.
• Engage with Business and Industry and faculty colleagues to ensure current curriculum.
• Develop curriculum in the EMS programs and determine intended course outcomes.
• Collaborate with EMS Faculty Coordinator and industry experts to ensure alignment of clinical education and didactic learning.
• Develop and utilize technology to advance student learning, including simulation.
• Coordinate lab activities with didactic content including simulation.
• Advise, mentor, and remediate students as needed.
• Submit student grades and records according to policies and deadlines.
• Identify qualified EMS adjunct faculty and provide mentorship.
• Maintain ongoing program accreditation and State approval.
• Promote the EMS program and engage with external partners to support enrollment.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement for program effectiveness.
• Collaborate on budget planning and Perkins funding considerations.
• Maintain regular campus presence through office hours and committee participation.
• Stay current on EMS trends and instructional design best practices.
• Participate in online teaching training and instructional design delivery.
• Maintain professional credentials required by the State and accreditation standards.
