Job summary

BRAZOSPORT COLLEGE in Lake Jackson, TX seeks an experienced EMS/Health Professions faculty member to support student success by preparing curricula, writing syllabi, developing courses, and selecting textbooks. Reporting to the Director of Health Professions, the candidate will teach EMS classes on campus and at offsite sites including clinical sites, and contribute to advisement and committee work.

The role requires an Associate degree in EMS, Texas EMS certification, and paramedic credentials,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Emergency Medical Services or closely related field.
• DSHS Texas EMS certification.
• Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic.
• DSHS Texas EMS Instructor/coordinator.
• Teaching experience at the community college level desirable.
• Ability to teach using multiple delivery methods including online and hybrid instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance value to the institution.
• SACS minimum credentials met.

Responsibilities

• Writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.;
• Developing and teaching EMS classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods;
• Teaching on campus and at offsite locations, including clinical sites;
• Assisting in the advisement of students and:
• Serving on various assigned college committees.
