Job description

FSCA is the leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide, offering mobile on-site fleet service for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. FSCA also services customers utilizing its 20+ nationwide service centers; each offering select services, such as accident repair, paint, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair. Supported by a 24/7 in-house call-center, FSCA provides maintenance scheduled and unscheduled services to fleets anywhere, anytime.

FSCA is currently hiring an EMS Technician Level II. This is a mid-level Technician role responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The technician may also perform scheduled work on various customer fleets and provide emergency roadside service. The role requires creative problem-solving in emergency situations, self-management, effective decision-making, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and situational awareness. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work effectively in emergencies are essential. The technician follows established procedures for repairs and maintenance, maintains safety practices, and documents work accurately. The EMS Technician II aims for excellence and quality in all tasks.

Duties

  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, power steering, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
  • Participate in safety training and stay updated on safety protocols to promote a safety culture.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and observations on Repair Orders using company devices and proprietary applications.
  • Communicate with management, team members, and dispatch via Microsoft Office, email, or phone to discuss repairs, obtain approvals, and notes.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
  • Complete DOT and other required forms accurately and promptly.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck, performing periodic reconciliation.
  • Understand and evaluate technical information related to the job.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and manage own schedule independently.
  • Assess customer needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and meet expectations.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, and more.
  • Discuss vehicle problems and work scope with customers, dispatch, or sales team.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or 5 years’ experience.
  • Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
  • Must pass DOT-regulated background screening and physical; a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining can be submitted in lieu of a physical.
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.
