University Hospital in Newark, NJ, is seeking an Emergency Medical Services Communications Supervisor to ensure orderly EMS operations, provide online supervision, and lead EMS personnel. The role emphasizes leadership, performance evaluation, and delivering exceptional patient care across diverse populations.
The position requires extensive EMS experience, 9-1-1 dispatching, EMS driving, and NJ credentials, with additional certifications and bilingual skills preferred.
The primary purpose of the Emergency Medical Services Communications Supervisor is to provide for the orderly operation of the EMS system by providing on-line supervision, decision making, and problem solving as needed to all divisions of EMS, completing all required reports and documentation, enforcing operational policies and procedures, observing and evaluating employee performance, providing leadership and direction to EMS Personnel, considering, meeting, and exceeding the expectations of customers and patients of all ages and from all populations while using age and population appropriate equipment and techniques, and by actively seeking other assigned duties to support efficient EMS operations and representing University Hospital, and EMS in a positive and professional manner.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is WH/23C ;$32.27- $49.35 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
