Full-time position available with the Fire Department, Professional Development Division located at 3750 Eastwood Trafficway.

Salary Range: $5,794-$8,833/month

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Provides necessary orientation and pre-clinical training to program students before being assigned to clinical and field rotations.
  • Facilitates the credentialing process where required of students before their participation in clinical and field activities.
  • Collects and reviews clinical evaluations, performs student evaluations.
  • Maintains progress records of students in the program, and facilitates exit interviews, competency determinations, and summative examinations before program clearance.
  • Creates and maintains accounts in online tracking program for Advanced EMT and Paramedic students.
  • Maintains positive relationships with the clinical site and acts as an EMS liaison to maintain and work toward opportunities to expand new sites.
  • Assists the Program Director in managing and maintaining clinical contracts with the clinical sites utilized in the EMS education programs.
  • Maintains and publishes office hours for student needs.
  • Remains available 24/7 as a point of contact to address emergencies that arise in the clinical settings.
  • Arranges through the Program Director for coverage of times when unable to provide a prompt response.
  • Provides preceptor training and train-the-trainer training at clinical and field sites.
  • Plans, develops and teaches Emergency Medicine courses, such as but not limited to Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic Initial Courses, Refresher and Continuing Education Programs and American Heart Association Courses.
  • Moderates, introduces, evaluates, and supervises programs presented by external and adjunct instructors.
  • Must meet and maintain CoAEMSP Standard III.B.5.b. Faculty/Instructional Staff Qualifications, CoAEMSP Standard III.B.7.b. Clinical Coordinator Qualifications, and Missouri Lead Instructor.
Qualifications

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in a variety of programs requiring professional administrative experience, including 3 years overseeing or supervising more complex administrative projects or programs; OR high school graduation and 9 years of experience in a variety of programs requiring professional administrative experience, including 3 years overseeing or supervising more complex administrative projects or programs.

Preference given for: an accredited Bachelor's degree, Level 1 Instructor Certificate from National Association of EMS Educators, a minimum of two years lecture and instructional experience at the Advanced Level AHA and/or EMT Basic and/or Paramedic level; standard paramedic skills to include those in the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Standard; 3 years of active clinical experience with an ALS Emergency Response Ambulance, five years preferred in the role of Paramedic Attendant.
