UPMC is seeking an Advanced Response Specialist to join the Advanced Response team in Pittsburgh. The role supports pre-hospital care, community outreach, and EMS program development. You will work independently in a fast-paced environment and mentor EMS providers while expanding advanced clinical offerings.

Qualifications

• At least three years of combined EMS experience.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for customer service.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care using established prehospital protocols and advanced life support skills.
• Serve as a resource, mentor, and preceptor for EMS providers and new staff.
• Develop and support continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and medical command services.
• Build and maintain relationships with EMS agencies through outreach, clinical collaboration, and community engagement.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, project work, committees, and community health initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, command physicians, and interdisciplinary teams with accurate documentation.
• Monitor equipment functionality, report issues, and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide feedback on patient care and develop corrective action plans when needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism, independent decision-making, and represent UPMC positively.
• Meet with EMS providers regularly to support Paramedic Response Team development and EMS programs.
• Complete required education and training to maintain medical command and professional competencies.
