Qualifications

• Current Kansas EMT license or Kansas Paramedic license required.
• 3 years' work experience in industry preferred.
• Must maintain current EMS certification.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Obtains at own expense yearly TB test and other immunizations or physicals as required by clinical sites.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and processes affecting EMS systems.
• Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
• Must be available for required course assignments.
• Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Submits all scholastic records by the established due date.
• Evaluates students to measure progress toward course outcomes/competencies.
• Manages and supervises students in all classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.
• Ensures that each program/class meets the WSU Tech Course Standard and reflects current field practices.
• Maintains an effective learning environment regardless of instructional modality (online, hybrid, or face to face). Demonstrates lab skills in a manner consistent with lesson objectives.
• Engages with Success Coaches, Disability services etc. to assist with student success.
• Performs other duties as necessary at the discretion of the Program Director and/or Dean of Health Sciences.
