Job summary

LifeLine Ambulance is seeking a qualified EMT Lead Instructor for its EMS academy in Illinois. The instructor will plan, schedule, and deliver EMT courses, arrange guest instructors, and mentor students and staff under the Director of Education, ensuring compliance with IDPH and NREMT requirements.

The role requires active EMT-B or Paramedic licensure, a Lead Instructor credential, and teaching experience; BLS Instructor certification is preferred. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active IDPH EMT-B or Paramedic licensure.
• IDPH Lead Instructor licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a licensed EMT-B or Paramedic.
• Previous EMT-B or EMT-P teaching experience.
• American Heart Association BLS Instructor Certification preferred.
• Personable with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fluid environment and improvise as needed.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and related guidelines.
• Flexible schedule to be available as needed.
• Ability to present information to adult learners in a controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily class activities.
• Manage the learning environment.
• Monitor student attendance.
• Provide evaluations and feedback to students, course coordinator, and medical director.
• Manage discipline and grievance issues.
• Maintain records per EMS system, IDPH and NREMT requirements.
• Deliver didactic content and supervise classroom discussions.
• Evaluate student performance on cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills.
• Grade quizzes, tests, projects and homework.
• Design/develop and use testing instruments.
• Mentor students and instructors.
• Adhere to the course syllabus.
• Design/develop and use lesson plans.
• Maintain office hours and participate in department meetings.
