Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
• Experience: Two years of work or volunteer experience, where public contact via telephone, computer use and data entry were part of the responsibilities; or a college degree can substitute for the two years of work experience.
• Desirable Qualifications: Public relations or customer service experience; ability to speak and understand English; foreign language a bonus.
• Contingent offers require passing background check, drug nicotine screening, physical, and entry level competency exam; nicotine/drug free environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer 9-1-1, emergency and non-emergency calls from the public, hospitals/healthcare providers and public safety agencies.
• Monitor multiple computer screens, gather, prioritize, and document caller information.
• Provide callers with pre-arrival instructions and dispatch EMS as required.
• Operate CAD, two-way radio, and other communications equipment.
• Identify problems through questioning and summarize information for responders.
• Assist with various duties as assigned for shift operations.
