Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company, a Vancouver, WA producer of canned and pouched products, seeks a Seasonal Empty Can De-Palletizer Operator for the Northwest Packing plant. You will feed empty cans to production lines and support a steady flow during the August–November season.

Responsibilities include removing shrink wrap, tops, and moving pallets; you will communicate with forklift drivers and leads, follow safety rules, and pass pre-employment drug testing while working extended shifts.

• Complies with all Food Safety Initiatives and follows safety rules and regulations.

NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for Seasonal Empty Can De-Palletizer Operatorto be responsible for ensuringa steady flow of empty cans to the production lines to the Solbern fillersat our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA.This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically August – November.

• Uses proper tools to remove shrink wrap from pallets of empty cans.
• Removes fiber or wood tops from pallets; able to stack tops.
• Uses push buttons or levers to move pallets.
• Collects tags from each pallet and turns them into quality control at the end of the shift.
• Communicates with empty can forklift driver and/or floor leads if there are issues to be addressed.

Requirements:

• Able to communicate with others verbally and remain calm under stress and strain.
• Complies with all Food Safety Initiatives and performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
• Able to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
• Able to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to early November.
