Job summary

Capitol City Residential Health Care is seeking an Employment Specialist to support individuals with IDD in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment in the community. This field-based role combines direct service, advocacy, job development, coaching, and collaboration with families, employers, and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; related degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in supported employment, job coaching, or vocational services.
• Familiarity with ECF CHOICES and Medicaid waiver services preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Must pass background and credentialing checks.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Discovery and Exploration services to identify vocational interests and strengths.
• Assist with job development including resume building, applications, mock interviews, and transportation planning.
• Support individuals during job searches, interviews, and onboarding.
• Deliver on-the-job coaching, task analysis, and skill-building support.
• Monitor job performance and collaborate with employers to ensure success.
• Maintain documentation and data collection per agency and funding requirements.
• Participate in Person-Centered Planning meetings, ISP development, and support teams.
• Educate employers and coworkers on accommodations and disability awareness.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and labor market trends.
• Ensure services align with DIDD and TennCare policies.
