Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking an Employment Specialist to support the Community Jobs program in Seattle and Redmond. This onsite role focuses on TANF participants, helping them gain workplace readiness, access training, and secure unsubsidized employment that leads to self-sufficiency within 6-9 months.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of related experience, with a preference for bilingual candidates and a strong anti-racism lens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, social work, education, or related field desired.
• One to two years of demonstrated experience in recruitment, enrollment, career assessment, and outcomes reporting.
• Knowledge of local labor market and training resources.
• Demonstrated commitment to anti-racist principles and working with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, screen, determine eligibility, enroll, and orient participants.
• Administer and interpret skills assessments for clients.
• Develop career objectives and action plans with clients.
• Provide job search preparation and training, including resume and cover letter guidance.
• Make appropriate job and internship placements and maintain client files.
