Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. is hiring for a Direct Support role in Florida. Provides support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community. Requires a valid driver's license, basic computer skills, and a pre-employment background/drug screen.

Qualifications

• Background and drug screenings required before employment.
• Valid driver's license with necessary endorsements and driving experience.
• Basic computer skills required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent if location requires it.
• Minimum one year of experience in human services if required by location.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports any suspected abuse or violations of an individual’s rights.
• Provides support, assistance and supervision to meet the needs and goals of individuals.
• Ensures training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Protects health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Provides a positive, reinforcing environment that promotes independence and choice.
• Follows positioning schedules and uses appropriate equipment per plan.
• Assists with diet, texture and equipment as needed.
• Maintains homes, outdoor areas and vehicles in good condition.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
