Job summary

Auberle is seeking a Young Adult Support Specialist for the 412 Youth Zone in Pittsburgh to build trusting relationships with young people and support their growth within a welcoming, youth-driven environment.

You will greet youth, provide one-on-one support, promote activity participation, transport to appointments, and coordinate with partners while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED accepted and one year of experience working with youth.
• Valid PA driver’s license, vehicle, registration, and proof of insurance.
• Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required.
• Requires travel to youth homes and throughout the community.
• Willingness to work evenings, some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with young people to foster engagement and support their individual growth.
• Greet and establish rapport with all youth that enter the drop-in center including engaging with them to build trusting relationships.
• Provide one on one contact to youth as needed and deemed necessary to evaluate their needs, address challenges, and celebrate successes.
• Be aware of and promote the activity calendar with youth and help encourage program participation
• Facilitate and promote various programs occurring at the drop-in center to engage young people and meet their diverse needs.
• Effectively communicate with other providers and partners who visit the drop-in center to establish and maintain the community collaboration.
• Support the youth by transporting them to appointments and/or activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure effective tracking and reporting.
