Job summary

Payette School District is seeking qualified paraprofessionals to support students for the 2026-27 school year. Paraprofessionals work under the direct supervision of licensed teachers and administrators to support instructional, behavioral, and supervision needs in classroom and school settings.

This position supports student learning and school operations and does not replace the responsibilities of licensed staff. Employment is contingent upon background checks and district training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work effectively with students of various ages.
• Ability to follow direction from licensed staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students individually or in small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher.
• Assist with classroom activities, instructional materials, and daily routines.
• Support student behavior using district-approved strategies and interventions.
• Assist students with organization, transitions, and task completion.
• Implement accommodations and supports as outlined in student plans (IEPs, behavior plans, or other educational plans) under teacher direction.
• Collect and document basic student data or observations as directed.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and other school settings.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in accordance with FERPA and district policy.
• Follow district policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the classified paraprofessional role
