Job summary

Sylvania in Illinois seeks a Paraprofessional to support instructional and behavioral needs of students under the supervision of certified teachers. You will assist with classroom management, instructional tasks, and the physical or behavioral support of students, helping to create an inclusive and productive learning environment.

This role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, effective communication with students, staff, administrators and parents, and adherence to Individualized Education

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Educator License with Stipulation for Paraprofessional.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the classroom teacher to assist with instruction, supervision, and the implementation of the students’ Individualized Education Programs
• Assist individual or small groups of students with their academic and social emotional needs
• Effectively communicate with students, staff, administrators and parents
• Exhibit positive interpersonal skills and serve as a role model for students by demonstrating a positive attitude and effective work ethic
• Assist with planning, organization and implementation of age appropriate learning and recreational activities with meet individual and developmental needs of the child.
• Provide support to instructors by setting up and taking down work areas, centers, and displays.
• Assist in supervising students in the classroom, playground, monitor and control behavior of students according to approved procedures.
• Assist in toileting needs as needed
