Harrisonburg City Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to develop and implement instructional programs for identified students, enabling them to reach their fullest potential.

The successful candidate will hold Virginia licensure or eligibility, employ evidence-based strategies, differentiate instruction, engage families, and collaborate with staff to support diverse learners in an elementary setting.

Qualifications

• Requires Virginia licensure or eligibility with SPED endorsement.
• Knowledge of scientifically-based instructional strategies and their implementation.
• Proficiency in business English, spelling, grammar and written language.
• Experience using instructional technology including computers and standard software.

Responsabilités

• Establishes and implements daily written lesson plans.
• Evaluates student learning and revises instruction accordingly.
• Differentiates instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Maintains appropriate classroom behavior and safety.
• Communicates effectively with students, parents and the community.
• Participates in professional development and collaboration.
• Assists in developing IEPs and monitors student progress.
• Maintains accurate records and submits required reports on time.
