Job summary

Newton County Schools seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction to students with disabilities within the Georgia standards framework. The role emphasizes delivering differentiated instruction, implementing IEPs, and collaborating with staff and families to support student progress.

The selected candidate will use data-driven planning, adapt teaching strategies, and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom aligned with district policies and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Education or related field with valid Georgia teaching certificate.
• Possesses Professional Qualifications and is in-field to teach the subject and/or class assigned as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
• Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of curriculum and provide relevant learning experiences.
• Exhibit best practice based on current research and facilitate higher-level thinking.
• Plan using state and local curricula to address differentiated needs of all students.
• Analyze and use student data to inform planning.
• Ensure implementation of IEPs for caseload students including accommodations and BIP.
