Job summary

Central York School District in York, PA seeks a full-time Special Education Instructional Assistant/Personal Care Assistant to support students with academic instruction and personal care in the Life Skills Classroom at Central York Middle School.

The IA/PCA collaborates with teachers, assists with IEPs, monitors behavior, and helps students access learning. The position involves direct student support, supervision, and documentation within a collaborative educational team.

Qualifications

• Supports students with IEPs and stays on-task
• Assists with personal care as needed
• Maintains classroom routines and behavior monitoring
• Provides learning support in subject areas and sessions

Responsibilities

• Provide and facilitate activities for assigned subjects
• Assist with IEPs and monitor behavior, take notes
• Re-teach material and assist with homework and projects
• Administer quizzes/tests under supervision
• Attend IEP/team meetings when required
• Prepare and set up learning activities; monitor student progress
• Record assessment data for students with special needs
• Supervise students in hallways and during meals and transitions
• Support community/work-based learning for learners with disabilities
