Job summary

Celina City Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant to provide academic and behavioral support to students, enabling access to the general curriculum while promoting independence.

The role involves assisting individuals and small groups with tasks, reinforcing routines, and safeguarding student confidentiality. Training in CPI or First Aid/CPR is encouraged, with professional communication across staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred (optional).
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and behavioral support to students.
• Assist individual and small groups with academic tasks, self-help skills, mobility, communication, and social interactions.
• Reinforce classroom routines and expectations; maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Support a safe and respectful environment conducive to learning; participate in required training and professional development (e.g., CPI, First Aid/CPR, etc.).
• Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents.
