Job summary

Celina City Schools is seeking a Special Needs Aide to provide academic and behavioral support at Celina Elementary School in Celina, Ohio. This part-time role (5.75 hours) assists students with access to the general curriculum and helps develop independence.

The position requires a high school diploma and an Ohio Educational Aide Permit. Experience with students with disabilities is preferred, and training in de-escalation or CPI is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education (with ESEA endorsement if applicable).
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties (may include lifting or physical restraint if needed).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Training in de-escalation, first aid/CPR, or CPI preferred (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and behavioral support to students.
• Assist individual and small groups with academic tasks, self-help skills, mobility, communication, and social interactions.
• Reinforce classroom routines and expectations; maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Support a safe and respectful learning environment; participate in required training and professional development.
• Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents.
