Job summary

Mental Health Association - Western MA is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to provide supportive, safe environments in community residential settings within the Integrated Community Living (ICL) department. You will travel between program locations, assisting individuals with daily living, personal goals, and community participation while promoting dignity and independence.

The role involves evening and weekend shifts (Fri 3pm-11pm, Sat-Sun 12pm-8pm) with pay range $19–$21/hour.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Minimum six months of relevant experience; experience with mental health or IDD preferred.
• MAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications required.
• Ability to provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered support for daily living activities.
• Promote community integration and access to transportation and social activities.
• Assist with medication administration, appointments, and wellbeing monitoring.
• Support financial skills and accurate documentation of expenditures.
• Respond to emergencies and crises per agency protocols.
• Advocate for participants and liaise with families and community supports.
• Contribute to ISPs and document progress and participation.
• Maintain daily logs, incident reports, and health records.
• Promote safety through procedures and drills, and identify hazards.
• Collaborate with team, attend trainings, and maintain MAP/CPR/First Aid certifications.
