Job summary

Mental Health Association - Western MA seeks a Residential Support Specialist to provide a supportive, safe environment across multiple community living sites in Western Massachusetts. You will work in the ICL program, helping individuals with daily living, goals, and community engagement.

Open shifts are Tue, Fri and Sat 9am–3pm; pay ranges from $19 to $21 hourly. A valid license, strong communication, and willingness to travel between program locations are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree in human services or a related field preferred.
• Must have or be willing to obtain MAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of six months of relevant experience with individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support with daily living activities, personal care, and skill development.
• Promote community integration by facilitating access to transportation and social activities.
• Support health needs, medication administration, appointment scheduling, and overall wellbeing.
• Assist with financial skills and money management; document expenditures.
• Respond to emergencies per agency protocols and communicate with supervisors.
• Advocate for participants and liaise with families and community supports.
• Contribute to ISPs and document progress and participation.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and health records.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in drills and training.
• Collaborate with team members and maintain MAP, CPR, First Aid certifications.
