Qualifications

• Two years recovery from a significant mental health and/or substance use disorder within the last year, with at least 12 months of relevant work or volunteer experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Recovery Specialist or Certified Recovery Support Specialist within Florida Certification Board must be obtained within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer leadership, outreach, advocacy, coaching, and recovery support to individuals seeking or sustaining recovery.
• Serve as a positive role model to individuals and families and connect them with community resources.
• Educate clients about community services (food, shelter, clothing, employment, transportation) and provide warm hand-offs to resources.
• Promote wellness, recovery, and resiliency and help establish support systems in the community.
• Engage with family members to educate on self-care and support, participate in crisis planning, and assist in care coordination post-acute intervention.
• Provide after-hours services on a rotation schedule and complete required trainings on time.
