Job summary

Plano ISD is seeking a dedicated Middle School Special Education teacher at Murphy Middle School. You will design and deliver instruction aligned with district curriculum, supporting students with intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth while enforcing classroom management and IEP goals.

You will collaborate with general and special education staff, utilize varied instructional strategies, assess student progress, and maintain comprehensive records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for assigned subject and grade
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Experience: at least one year of student teaching or approved internship

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum
• Plan and use instructional strategies accommodating individual differences
• Present the subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies
• Integrate technologies in teaching to support student learning
• Assess student learning and adjust instructional methods
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs
• Coordinate with staff to establish instructional goals and methods
• Attend staff development activities and maintain required records
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned
• Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues
• Promote professional development and ethical conduct
