Job summary

Arts in Action Community Middle School is seeking an After-School Program Leader to support instructional programs and assist teachers and students in grades 6–8. The role involves leading homework help sessions, enrichment activities, physical education, and creating a safe, welcoming environment.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and current college enrollment, plus demonstrated experience with middle school students. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma and currently enrolled in college.
• Demonstrated successful experience working with middle school aged students.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively with staff and parents alike.
• Bilingual (oral & written) Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit lesson plans in a timely manner
• Lead and facilitate homework help sessions, enrichment activities, and physical education activities
• Ensure students are safely signed in and out of the program daily using our student attendance software
• Create and ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all students
• Report problems of a serious nature, including recurring behavioral problems and safety hazards, to the After‑School Coordinator and School Director
• Clean and organize the classroom space used during the program hours
• Actively supervise students and keep students safe
• Enforce activity and safety rules in school buildings and on school property
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
