Job summary

Bakerripley in Richmond, TX is hiring an Early Head Start teacher to manage classroom activities for infants and toddlers, plan developmentally appropriate experiences, and support children with developmental delays when needed.

You will work with an integrated team to implement the program goals, maintain records, and involve families through home visits and conferences while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment in compliance with Head Start standards.

Qualifications

• Current Infant/Toddler CDA required.
• Associate’s Degree Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Basic knowledge of the use of computers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that advance all areas of children’s development in an age-appropriate manner.
• Provide a safe, healthy and well-managed environment for infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement individualized goals for children based on identified needs.
• Develop an individual plan for each child including goals and activities to meet objectives.
• Screen, observe and document student progress in the GOLD online assessment system.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records including observations, lesson plans, attendance and parent participation.
• Establish stable, supportive relationships with infants/toddlers and their families.
• Encourage parental involvement in all aspects of the Early Head Start Program.
• Schedule home visits and parent-teacher conferences as required and document them.
• Collaborate with the Early Head Start Mentor Teacher in curriculum planning.
