Pathways Center in Manchester, GA seeks a Direct Support Professional for IDD residential services. You will support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, help with personal care, and foster participation in recreation, socialization, and community activities.

This role emphasizes person-centered planning, safety, and dignity, requiring patience, reliability, and teamwork as you assist with meals, shopping, transportation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• One year experience working with developmentally disabled individuals or related human services.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• High school diploma or GED with relevant training or experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct personal care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential, facility-based or community settings.
• Assists with development of an individual service/treatment plan for each client.
• Teaches basic life skills in residential, day, and community settings.
• Observes client behavior, documents observations and incidents as needed.
• Provides training in basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
• Arranges for medical care and supports ongoing treatment needs.
• Monitors food intake, wellness activities, and psychosocial status.
• Supports clients in building relationships and social networks.
• Provides transportation for community outings as needed.
• Counsels clients on behavioral challenges and daily decision-making.
