Job summary

Mount Greylock Regional School District seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher for Williamstown Elementary School in Williamstown, MA. The role focuses on providing direct, specialized instruction to students with disabilities within an inclusive, student-centered learning community.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and MA licensure (or eligible) for Moderate Disabilities (PreK–8).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Moderate Disabilities (PreK–8) or Severe Disabilities teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Experience using diverse instructional strategies to meet learning needs.
• Knowledge of current special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication.
• Experience with diverse elementary students including autism, learning disabilities, behavioral challenges preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, specialized instruction to students with disabilities per IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to implement inclusive plans.
• Create a safe, structured classroom environment promoting engagement and independence.
• Participate in all aspects of the IEP process, including assessments, team meetings, goal development, and progress reporting.
• Monitor progress using formal and informal assessment tools and differentiate instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance.
• Support behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports.
• Communicate regularly with families as liaison between school and home.
