Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education required.
• Special Education Teacher certification required.
• Experience with IEPs and individualized educational planning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in special education instructional activities.
• Assists in planning and developing special education curriculum.
• Establishes learning objectives and maintains lesson plans.
• Develops and adapts instructional materials to meet student needs.
• Assesses and records student progress using approved grading scale.
• Implements diverse teaching strategies and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Maintains classroom safety and manages discipline per policy.
• Attends individualized educational conferences and collaborates with staff.
• Provides support and consultation to building staff.
• Evaluates instructional materials and participates in professional growth activities.
