Job summary

Indian Prairie Community Unit School District seeks an Elementary Special Education Self-Contained Teaching Assistant (Part-Time) at Brooks Elementary School to support students with IEP objectives and learning activities.

You will implement instructional plans, monitor progress, assist with daily living skills, and participate in weekly team meetings and trainings; PARA licensure pathway preferred for applicants.

Qualifications

• Valid Educator License with Stipulations (PARA) or Substitute/Professional license.
• Experience with special education students preferred.
• 60 semester hours or equivalent required for PARA path.
• Ability to follow licensed teacher plans and therapies.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional plans as determined by licensed teachers.
• Apply lesson modifications to meet learning objectives and keep students on task.
• Administer curriculum-based tests/quizzes.
• Ensure assignments and materials are prepared and recorded.
• Record and update student progress toward IEP goals.
• Provide care and support for daily living activities as needed.
• Observe and communicate student progress to teachers and therapists.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and trainings.
• Assist with non-instructional activities and maintain school safety.
