The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, NCLB/compliance credentials or a district competency test, CDA within a year, CPR training, and experience with students with special needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NCLB compliance – 60 college credit hours, associate’s degree, generalist or specialist para educator license OR district competency test.
• CDA required within 1 year of employment.
• CPR Training Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing instruction to individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Actively participate in professional development.
• Provide support to students based on individual need.
• Participate in IEP meetings and behavior intervention meetings when applicable.
• Monitor and assist students in prescribed activities.
