Job summary

BAYADA Habilitation is seeking a Companion/Buddy to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Oahu community. The role focuses on building independence, social participation, and daily living skills in a supportive one-on-one setting.

This opportunity offers a 1,000 sign-on bonus, pay rate of $19/hour, weekly pay, flexible scheduling, paid training, and opportunities to grow within a caring, inclusive team. No experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• Patience, empathy and dedication are essential.
• Passion for providing opportunities to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build long lasting relationships in a one-on-one setting a few hours a week.
• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities, like Special Olympics.
• Support clients in developing their independence and achieving their goals (e.g., budgeting, socializing, shopping, using public transportation, exercise).
• Be attentive to meet the individual’s needs with dignity and respect.
• Ensure client safety and well-being in the home and community.
• Have fun on Oahu as a supportive Buddy!
