BAYADA Habilitation is seeking a Habilitation Technician to work as a Companion/Buddy to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently as possible in the local community on Oahu. No experience is required and a $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Passion for providing opportunities to individuals with disabilities.
• Patience, empathy and dedication are essential qualities.

Responsibilities

• Build long lasting relationships in a one-on-one setting a few hours a week.
• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities.
• Support clients in developing independence and achieving their goals (e.g., budgeting, socializing, shopping, using public transportation, exercise).
• Be attentive to meet the individual’s needs with dignity and respect.
• Ensure client safety and well-being in the home and community.
