Job summary

Heart Havens seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities at MacLeigh and Post Oak homes in VA Beach, VA. Roles include helping with daily living, meal prep, transportation, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months’ previous direct support experience required.
• 1-year previous direct support experience in a DD residential group home setting preferred, or a combination of experience and certifications with a minimum of two years in DD residential with a consistent job history.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to residents as outlined in ISPs and plans.
• Supports residents with Activities of Daily Living as needed.
• Administers medications according to procedures and the 6 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Maintains accurate daily documentation and incident reports.
• Works to engage residents in community activities and opportunities.
