Job summary

Limitless Possibilities LLC is seeking Direct Support Professionals to supervise adults with developmental disabilities across home, community and vocational settings. You will tailor support plans, teach skills, and promote informed choice in daily activities.

Responsibilities include household management, service facilitation, health promotion, documentation, advocacy and community networking to empower participants toward greater independence.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (21 for driving positions)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience delivering community supports to people with developmental disabilities
• Ability to reason and solve problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver license
• Automobile insurance
• Willing to perform reasonable requests to meet client needs
• Proficient with basic computer applications (word processing, email)
• Able to communicate verbally to instruct, demonstrate, train and cooperate with adults with developmental disabilities
• Able to stand, sit, bend, lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and move intermittently (lift up to 25 lbs)

Responsibilities

• Household Management: assist with meals, laundry, cleaning and transportation to maximize independence.
• Facilitation of Services: participate in service plan development, implementation and review.
• Health and Wellness: promote client health and wellbeing.
• Documentation: manage organization paperwork and records.
• Client Empowerment: support self-determination and decision making.
• Assessment: use formal and informal methods to identify needs and desires.
• Advocacy: understand and support client rights.
• Community Networking: identify supports in the community and access them.
• Relationship Building: help develop friendships and relationships.
• Communication: maintain clear, collaborative communication with clients and teams.
• Crisis Intervention: apply appropriate crisis prevention/intervention techniques.
• Professionalism: pursue continuous knowledge and growth in duties.
• Vocational/Career Support: assist with career and education-related concerns.
