Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (21 for driving positions).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in community supports for people with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Ability to reason and solve problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver license and automobile insurance.
• Must be willing to perform reasonable requests to meet clients' needs.
• Proficiency with word processing, email, and basic computer use.
• Ability to instruct, demonstrate, train, and work cooperatively with adults with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of adults with disabilities in home, community, and vocational settings.
• Address and teach opportunities, provide options for informed choice, and follow service plans.
• Collaborate with program supervisors and support teams to meet client needs.
• Support household management tasks and transportation to maximize independence.
• Promote health and wellness for all clients.
• Assist with development and review of individual service plans.
• Documentation of services and client progress as required.
• Engage in advocacy and community networking to access supports.
• Foster friendships and relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
• Maintain professionalism and pursue ongoing knowledge for job duties.
